recently gained planning for a few new projects – this one is in aberdeenshire : traditional approach but with contemporary styling – vernacular materials : stone : slate : timber : render. …
lower breakish : skye : a stylish but modest new croft house set low behind the existing old raised stone dyke – simple form but plenty glazing , light and open-ness to maximise the far-reaching views. contrasting stone, render and timber with simple but effective design features such as a lovely glazed corner to the full-height living areas. views out to sea and to the mountains from most of the rooms will be stunning.
Just received these lovely pics from the Forsyth’s , whose new house is just finished. I’m going to see it for myself this weekend as I haven’t been since they moved in. excited ! Its got super views to the rear garden and so we designed in the garden elevation with LOTS of glass. views to the hills from the living areas and master bedroom. Lovely south facing veranda for sitting out under all year round.
just received outline planning for a new house after a pretty intense application process : its at harestone, aberdeenshire, and the great news is that the client is looking to some cool houses for our starting point…. traditional materials but used in an interesting contemporary way – plenty glass and light …..really looking forward to working with them to design this one…..
Welcome to our new website – more interactive relevant and current… I’ll post images of ongoing and past projects to give a better idea of what we do….
work starts on site at waterloo , isle of skye : piling + groundbeams poured on a beautiful winter’s day for my own house project : taigh solais , meaning ‘house of light’….
