planning just lodged for this extension to a charming wee cottage at achnahant…. one of those happy design collaborations with a client who embraces interesting new ideas . the cottage is preserved perfectly with a minimal glass link to the light contemporary timber + zinc extension sitting on a solid stone base which meshes with the natural landscape.
new house design lodged for planning on skye
lower breakish : skye : a stylish but modest new croft house set low behind the existing old raised stone dyke – simple form but plenty glazing , light and open-ness to maximise the far-reaching views. contrasting stone, render and timber with simple but effective design features such as a lovely glazed corner to the full-height living areas. views out to sea and to the mountains from most of the rooms will be stunning.
( hard-fought ) planning approval at last ….looking forward to the next steps !
just received outline planning for a new house after a pretty intense application process : its at harestone, aberdeenshire, and the great news is that the client is looking to some cool houses for our starting point…. traditional materials but used in an interesting contemporary way – plenty glass and light …..really looking forward to working with them to design this one…..
New website!
